Children In Need Day 2009

Foxbridge is proud to be part of Chris Evans' "Drivetime Dine & Disco" weekend. The guests had pledged over £450,000 to Children In Need in the auction last November and were treated to 3 days of fun and frivolity. On Saturday the guests converged on us at Foxbridge Golf Club - Chris himself in his rather fine Ferrari.......
.
The car park was full of fine cars, but Bonzo's automobile is still MY favourite!!

They saw Paul Barrington's trick shot show - how he can hit the ball off a tee onto the 1st green WITH A PUTTER is beyond me!! 25 golfers then took to the fairways for a Stableford competition. Chris played the 9th hole with each group as they went through and gave a prize to each player that managed to beat his shot into the green!

Michael Peckett from Derbeyshire won the competition, and the 'Mulberry Cup', with 23 points and Vera Martin, a member of Cuddington Golf Club in Surrey, was the best lady golfer with 18 points. Vera had the unnerving experience of playing her first hole of the day with Chris Evans on the 9th, she blobbed the hole and then still went on to win the ladies' prize!! Pudsey was on hand to make sure all was fair but we never managed to get a photo of him with Nick...........

The non-golfers were introduced to the game by our team of teaching pro's, Neil, Chris from Horsham, Helen from Horne Park and our own Matt.

Karen and Nichola provided some refreshments for everyone, including Karen's finest Pudsey biscuits!! That lady is a gem!!

The afternoon ended with Jonny Saunders' 'Big Quiz' in the clubhouse while I sorted out the scorecards!

Pudsey then presented the prizes and they were all off to the Mulberry for a fabulous evening of entertainment as Chris Evans' guests..

Our thanks to Captain Lee and Fred for their help on the day. We look forward to next year!
